Security vs. freedom is a reflection on the role of security, and more specifically of video surveillance in our society, developed at the 2nd inclusiva-net meeting: Digital Networks and physical space, which took place in Madrid at Medialab-Prado 3 to 14 March 2008.

The project has a main section in which the protagonist is CameraMap, a geolocation application of surveillance cameras in Madrid, extended to other territories through google maps. Thus, anyone who wants to participate can serve as a sensor and can detect cameras.

Camera map is accompanied by avideo-actionat the Plaza Mayor in Madrid, aninstallationat Medialab-prado, aforum of opinion, a section devoted to the legal&socialaspects, a campaign tocover your camera!!! and ahoneymoon photo-album.

The original idea comes from the reference 004"Control 49"published in August 2006 by the Madrid-based art/technology platform addSensor an organization formed byAngel Galán,Antonio LópezandMiguel Angel Lastraand is developed in collaboration with Aniara Rodado, Antoine Petitjean, Francisco Hinojosa, Frederique Muscinési, Inhye Lee, Javier Camuñas Velasco,Javier Ruiz, Jose Mario Planas, Olga Manzanaro, Sergio Rodríguez y Valeria Valmarraco.
